Polly Walker is a British actress from Warrington, Lancashire, England. She was born on May 19th, 1966, and has four siblings. She took her first dance lessons as a very young girl and became a professional ballet dancer when she was sixteen years old. A serious injury soon thereafter led her to abandon dancing and become an actress instead. Her television feature debut came in 1991, and Walker has been acting steadily since that time. She is often seen in serial dramas on the BBC, such as the 2005-7 series "Rome," in which she played the role of Atla of the Julli. Walker's work on "Rome" garnered her a Golden Globe nomination in the category "Best Performance by an Actress in a Television Series - Drama". More recently, Polly Walker has been featured on "Waking the Dead," a two-part crime drama on the BBC, and played the role of Lady Bess Sedgwick on Marple: At Bertram's Hotel.
