Quentin Tarantino simply knows what he does. He's a terrific director, being on my top 3 (James Cameron and Tim Burtn complete the list). I don't believe that Tarantino will be able to do a bad movie ever in his life. He has amazing ones: Starting with Pulf Fiction, that's a classic. Kill Bill movies are one of my favourite saga's, it's just beautifully written and I do enjoy the implicit humor and the japanese cultural references, I think everything about Kill Bill is perfect. Jackie Brown is another good film, even though is terribly underrated... And Unglorious Basterds is just completly unbelivable (in a good way). What a fantastic movie Tarantino has pulled off. He has such an unique view and he does fullfill his ideas in the best way, he's awesome and entertaining. Way to go !
Is true that QT wants to make the 2nd part of Reservoir Dogs? A rumor says that he did onemilliondollarfilm.com to produce it cause of a bet with Robert Rodriguez. Do sbdy know smthg?
Where would the movie world be without him? He's the man for "alternative" movies like Planet Terror, Kill Bill and films that only he can create. IMHO one of the top 5 Directors
This guy rocks. He is just entertaining. He is a true student of film which helps. I understand his stlye may not be loved by all, but I enjoy it very much. Also, his movies have very good writing and his dialogue is hilarious.
One of my favourite directors. Now this has not everything to do with the quality of his movies (even though they're great) but with the certein style that his movies have. Reservoir Dogs, Pulp Fiction, Jackie Brown; all movies with a special sauce of witty dialogue and great camerawork. I deliberately didn't mention the Kill Bill movies, because these are totally different from what we're used to. Which, to me, is a great thing. Tarantino is a director who isn't afraid to experiment.
He is awesome, he has brough to Hollywood a whole new style and a new perspective to watch new films. And that only with five directions in his career, and some other things. All of his owrks are very good always, Kill Bill, Pulp Fiction, Jackie Brown, and Resevoir Dogs are of course very well done and are just amazing movies. Quentin Tarantino is one of the best writers and directors of our times.
Quentin Tarrantino is such a creative genius that you are gravitated to his every movie. Every one of his movies is not a standout film, but his presence both behind the camera and on camera make you want to see his movies. His forte is that of the dark, gritty action/comedies. Yes, I did say action/comedy because his movies do contain some fantastic and memorable lines.
Quentin Tarantino is not a gifted director, he is a hack. He makes the same film over and over again. His films consist of horrible people performing morally outrageous acts with no re-precautions. How can you feel for a character that kills people for money yet is devote to a God? How can you feel for a character that rides around in the streets raping and murdering women? I could go on and on. I think Tarantino is a bad person to begin with. All he knows is the dark side of the soul which is reflected in his work; which is EXTREMELY detrimental to society. For example, his latest film Death Proof is about a serial rapist and murderer who hunts the streets for women. In one of the promos for death proof there is a scene of three school girls strutting down the street, one of them looks to be at least 12. Way to Go you sicko. He caters to psychopaths and sadists.
Stanley Kubrick knows metaphors, Speilburg knows how to please the crowd and Cameron how to have Leonardo de Caprio sink in a ship, but non hold a candle to Tarantin's funky, black style that pays homage to films we can't even pronounce. Apparently he watched every film in his store before he made Reservoir Dogs, and it shows as it is fresh and takes every good part from every film ever and makes them his own. Genius
Quentin Tarantino. What can you say about the man? First, one thing you can say is that his movies are genius. His directing capabilities are, in my opinion comparable to Alfred Hitchcock on terms of suspense. Another thing that I love about his movies are songs he selects for the soundtracks, they sure fit in the scenes that he has them set to.
Also, what I think is cool about him is how he does a great job directing his movies without having a film school education like some of the big name directors of today. His directing style and movies are such a breath of fresh air with some of the movies that are being released today.
In all, Tarantino is one of the best directors I have seen in a long time, his movies are so entertaining. I for one can't wait until he makes his next movie because how we can rarely expect what happens next in his movies.
I have to admitt that before my best friend Jo introudcued me to QT I was ignorant to what a freaking genius he really is. I'd heared of movies like Resivour Dogs and Pulp Fiction. Even movies such as From Dusk till Dawn and True Romance. When I finally sat down and started to watch them I was mesmerized at every turn and every corner. There were 5 minute speeches that didn't go with the plot and the movie at all, but were timed and performed just right. His trade mark Mexican stand offs which again are timed and performed flawlessley. I really have to say that I love QT, and I really encourage many of you people to see his movies. They may not make sense the first time that you watch them but soon you too will come to love and understand the man with golden touch and the perfect sense I what people really want in a movie.
The thing that really gets me about this guy, is how very real, colorful and original he is. He edmits a kind of I'm an avrage joe, with a shitload of class and style, and I got hell of an attitude and all the will to show it!
If you've ever seen a Tarantino film, you know pretty much what he's about and what I'll be talking about...
From his latest hit, Kill Bill, you see his love for the japanese movie culture, but also his instant classic, of the charts bad-ass comments and actions. You see how he likes putting in alot of blod, and sometimes grotesque schenes (never tacky or unfitting though, always elevating the plot).
If you've seen any of his earlier classics such as Pulp Fiction or Reservoir dogs alot of this is "again" very visable, especially the long, very cool conversations. And in all cases we get to see pieces of a puzzle fall together over the event of the entire movie as he tends to jump a bit to keep it intresting throuhg out the entire thing, which he does splendidly by the way. WE also always get to witness the fact that he loves killing people off (like the joke he made at the leno-last-friends-episodes about there being 25 to start with but he killed of 19 in the pilot, hehe)
However, apart from the films he's directed, which are all masterpieces, works of pure and original art, appealing to both the "layman movie-person" as well as to the "executive movie lovers" (where I place myself) who really appreciate the precision and time spent to tweak every single comment and move to show exactly what he sees in his mind, apart from that, I find him to be and amazing actor as well.
This is where he really shines in my oppinion as someone who can show a real clear, bad-ass portrait of a person as opposed to most other great actors who never really get around but always stay under that thin plastic film of hollywood, fiction, and almost reality (the kind of image we get in our minds when depicting ourselves as a hero). He seldomly has very big roles, but his little appearances always gets me as he contrasts so very against everybody else. His voice is a big thing of his character, and it plays wonderfully in harmony with his style. His comments are awesome, he looks cool, and HE'S REAL!!
The last thing I want to say, which includes everything above, are the tv shows he's guested (I'm thinking mainly about alias) or directed (CSI). To Alias he brings his cool self and his comments and style. And CSI, well I recon that's the only 2 episodes of CSI I feel are worth watching, but ooh are they worth it! Especially the way he depicts Nicks panic while trapped in the box, awesome... and soo true!
In summory, Quentin Tarantino is a great great director and writer, but if possibly even a better actor. My hat is off to him, and all respekt to him!
Quentin Tarantino is simply the best director to ever grace our movie and thankfully television screens. Never having attended to film school, it is pretty remarkable how a movie geek who used to work at small video stores, grew up to became one of the most original directors in film history. I can't wait until he gets a television show of his own.
