Ralph Carter was a very energetic young man, and as Michael Evans (named after one of the show's creators who also played the original Lionel on The Jefferson's) was the backbone of the strong militant black male. Some of the other reviewers here have asked where he is today. Ralph owns a small store in New York dedicated to African art and currently lives with a male partner, having 'come out' to his friends and family in the early 1980s. On June 28, 2006, Carter appeared at the BET Awards in a mini-Good Times reunion, and again at the 2006 TV Land Awards on March 19, 2006, in Santa Monica, California.
During the "Good Times" marathon that aired on TV One the weekend of April 25, 2009, Carter appeared in-between episodes alongside Bern Nadette Stanis. They shared their stories on some of the episodes that the fans selected as their favorites. A sample can be seen on YouTube.

The “MILITANT MIDGET” played his groovy to the T! He put his heart and soul into his character as did all of the actors. But for his part he did it big. The show is the best ever THANK YOU! To the writer and producers for this STRONG BLACK FAMILY!
Every since I did not hear from Ralph Carter again, did he do anymore movies because he was one of the greatest actors I have known since my growing up watching Good Times as a child since 1979. On Good Times, he was really trying to support his parents, brother, and sister at the time of family struggles. I really would like to know what Ralph Carter is doing right now. I pray and hope that he is all and well and does not have AIDS.
I wanted to know what is Ralph Carter from Goodtimes is doing now? Why do we not hear from him or see him in the spot light anymore?
I have see some of the charchters from the show least to say. Nothing in regards to Ralph Carter. Would it be possible to have a reunion on the cast again because they were like family when I was growing up and saw them going through alot of things we deal with daily.
We need another good honest show like "Good Times" to stay in touch with us all.
