Ralph Carter was a very energetic young man, and as Michael Evans (named after one of the show's creators who also played the original Lionel on The Jefferson's) was the backbone of the strong militant black male. Some of the other reviewers here have asked where he is today. Ralph owns a small store in New York dedicated to African art and currently lives with a male partner, having 'come out' to his friends and family in the early 1980s. On June 28, 2006, Carter appeared at the BET Awards in a mini-Good Times reunion, and again at the 2006 TV Land Awards on March 19, 2006, in Santa Monica, California.
During the "Good Times" marathon that aired on TV One the weekend of April 25, 2009, Carter appeared in-between episodes alongside Bern Nadette Stanis. They shared their stories on some of the episodes that the fans selected as their favorites. A sample can be seen on YouTube.
