  • Quotes

    • Ryan Seacrest: It was fun standing next to you, believe me, I'm dead now. I look so big next to you.
Ramiele: You're gonna have fun with Kristy [Lee Cook] standing next to you. She's a skyscraper.

    • Ramiele: (on her plans after American Idol) I'm staying in L.A. for a while and I'm going to try to pursue something here. And if that doesn't work, I'm definitely going back to school for nursing. I also wanted to try acting.

    • Ramiele: (on when she and Danny will move in together and if they will ever sing together) I'm not sure yet when we're going to move in together, because of the tour. We're really close -- I still talk to him every single day. I mean you don't really get to share this kind of experience with just anybody. We clicked and we just want to be there for each other. Me and Danny will do a duet regardless!

    • Ramiele: (on if everyone treats her like a kid on American Idol because of her height and if she ever thought of wearing heels) Yeah. I'm older than [David] Archuleta and he walks by me all the time and pats me on the head, like I'm his little sister. I just hate wearing heels. If I don't really need to, I won't.

    • Ramiele: (on what she, Brooke and Kristy were telling each other when they were in the bottom 3 of American Idol) We were just hugging each other. We're roommates, along with Syesha. We were just talking to each other; Brooke was like, "I love you guys no matter what happens." And Kristy was like, "I'm here again. I love you guys." I kind of knew it was me when Brooke went to go sit down.

    • Ramiele: (on if she will follow Jasmine Trias and seek stardom in the Philippines) That's home to me and I wanted to see what I could do over there. I'm pretty sure I might have [success] over there, following in her footsteps. She left a lot for me to follow, so I'm really grateful to her for being the first Filipino American Idol on the show and doing big things.

    • Ramiele: (on if she thought Simon Cowell was too mean on American Idol) Oh Simon likes me, I know he does [laughs]. He's a really nice guy. Backstage, when I left the show, he came and he's like, "Oh, cry on my shoulder." He was just telling me you know, "It was song choice, it was song choice." And I really do believe, he says the things he says -- -sometimes he overdoes it probably, you know it's TV -- because he just wants us to be better.

    • Ramiele: (on if wanting to be the first Asian American Idol put pressure on her) A little bit. I was like, "I have to do really well, not only for myself, not only for my parents but for people of the same race and the people supporting me." And I got as far as I could and I hope no one's disappointed in me.

    • Ramiele: (on if the nerves got to her because she started out strong on American Idol) [The first week] people were telling me, "You did really well," and I'm like, "Did I?" I let that get to my head. Sometimes you just overthink it. You should never second-guess yourself, you should always go with your first instinct. I was also terrified of that humongous stage. But now I'm going to be on tour and I'm going to have to be on a lot of humongous stages.

    • Ramiele: (on if she was surprised with her elimination) I felt like I was going home -- not to be negative, because I'm not that kind of person. I just felt it a lot more when Dolly [Parton] sang. And I was praying while she was singing. But it's OK. All of us have to leave sometime, there's only one winner.

    • Ramiele: (On what to say to the remaining Idol contestants) If they forget me, then I'll hurt them, pretty much. (laughs)

    • Ramiele: (On how she feels on being the "emotional" Idol) But I haven't been crying since last night, like I let it all out and I was trying to get Ryan to cry but he wouldn't cry so, it's okay. And I got a hug from Simon backstage, and Randy and Paula are sweet.

    • Ramiele: (On what she'll miss the most on Idol All the little things, and every person that I met, and just being around everybody that I was around, getting to work with the band and everybody else.

    • Ramiele: (If she was surprised by the outcome on Idol) No, not really because I felt like it all day yesterday.

    • Ramiele: (On being asked what she does with her roommate on Idol)Oh yeah we dance in the room. Brooke will like put on some, like, this music that you will never think Brooke would listen to; and then she'll start rapping and dancing to it, and she'll twirl and do the "woo", so it's exciting. It makes us all feel better.

    • Ramiele: My advice for future Idol contestants is to just take it all in and have fun meeting the people you will meet and to stay humble.

    • Ramiele: I wanna be the next American Idol because it's not so much that I want to be famous, but like I want to represent for Asian people and I wanna just live my dream. Singing in the shower is a whole lot different than singing on the stage in front of all those people.

    • Ramiele: I first started singing when I was 12, I think it was, at my cousin's birthday at some big ball or something it's like a kinse, but for Filipinos.

    • Ramiele: I can play the piano, I took piano for five years, but I can't read all the hard notes anymore. I learned the guitar, my sister was teaching me, but I'm not too good at that. I'm into hula dancing, Polynesian dancing since I was in first grade, so that's really odd, but yeah, that and, that's it.

    • Ramiele: If I don't become the next American Idol, I don't think I'm going to get all discouraged or anything like, "Oh no, I'm never going to sing again." I mean like, of course it's a big experience, you learn all this until the point you get taken off and you just take what you've leaned and learn from it. I'm probably going to go back to school for nursing 'cause I had to stop.

    • Ramiele: When I found out I was in the top 24 when they told me I kinda' like slapped my face. I did the homerun thing and it really hurt. And then I kinda' like stood up and sat down a whole bunch of times because I really didn't know. I thought she was psyching me out to tell me wasn't gonna make it. I didn't know, I didn't know what she was thinking and then when I made it, I kinda' freaked out a little bit, went down stairs and they told me I was just like, I had this plain look on my face. I didn't know how to take it yet. It still hasn't hit me. Maybe it will hit me when I'm walking down the street.
