Um...Frusciante?
Come on . Hillel's playing was so simple. Nothing he played was above intermediate level, or that creative. Frusciante has some of the top solos of all time, such as "I Could Have Lied" and "My Lovely Man" (dedicated to Hillel). I'm not saying Slovak was bad or anything, he's my ninth favorite guitarist. Frusciante just owns him. I've listened to every RHCP song on an album, and post "Uplift Mofo Party Plan" (Mother's Milk" or later, excluding "One Hot Minute") stuff is amazing. I love old and new RHCP, but the guitar dominates from 1989-Present. Frusciante has taken what Hendrix did so many years ago, and evolved into something new, and sometimes beautiful. John all the way.
And what do you mean "was the better guitarist" when Frusciante is alive? Don't stop listening to RHCP!!!
I swear, sometimes I sound like an advertisement for RHCP. Oh well.
