Reese: I want to not perpetuate any more of this kind of garbage that's out there in the media about women falling in love blindly. No one's life is perfect, and I'm sick of whatever tabloid stuff or this or that story tries to portray. My life is just as realistic as everybody else's. Whoever thinks someone has a perfect life, I'm so eager to dispel that.

Reese: (on meeting her husband Jim Toth) It happened out of the blue. This really drunk guy was hitting on me, making such an idiot of himself, yelling at me. He was like, 'You don't know me.' And I was like, 'Yeah, I know. I don't know you!' Jim came over and said, 'Please excuse my friend. He's just broken up with someone.' Jim was a really good friend, pulling him out of that situation. That's just kind of who he is, a really good person.

Reese Witherspoon: (on her children's reaction to her film Monsters vs Aliens) I took my kids to see it a couple of weeks ago. As I was driving home from the theater I said to my children in the back seat, 'So, what do you think is the message in this movie?' My daughter Ava, 9, really thoughtfully said, "I think it's about never letting someone underestimate you and always living up to your true potential." I said, 'That is so astute, yes, Ava, that is exactly what the message is.'..(then she asked her son Deacon…) I think it's about ... I think it's about when octopus aliens come to your planet you got to make sure you kill them.'
