    • Richard Dean Anderson: (about the scar over his left eye) It's part of what we established in the character. We have to maintain it because it will grow over, and believe me, it's a pain in the butt to be walking around with this bareness there. It was one of those elements of movies and television that has always driven me crazy. So, I can't remember the episode, but I got hit in the eye or slugged or something, and we established a big bandage and the whole thing, and I told Jan [Newman, make-up artist], you know, this would leave a mark. Let's run with this. Let's keep it in there as part of what defines O'Neill. And so that's all it is. It's just a character thing.

    • Richard Dean Anderson: (about his dog Andy) She's just a rocket. She jumps, leaps, flies. It's the flying that gets her in trouble. She'll jump off walls, or through trees and bushes. And she hops! Her whole name when I got her was Rabbit Andy because she is such a hopper. She goes through the tall grass I have planted in the back, and literally she looks like a bunny, just bounding. That's the word - bounding!

    • Richard Dean Anderson: (about Stargate Continuum release) I must shout and tout the relative genius of both Mr. Wright and Mr. Wood. The darn thing looks, sounds, and behaves like a feature film. I am so frickin' proud of those guys.

    • Richard Dean Anderson: (On filming Continuum) It's good to be back. For the most part it's good to be back.

    • Richard Dean Anderson: (after the death of Don S. Davis) I will forever forever have the memory of that wonderful man, within. As I know will all.

    • Richard Dean Anderson: (about his MacGyver co-star Dana Elcar who passed away in 2005) At a time when I had very little business being called an actor, he made things so easy for me. It was a learning experience that was very warm and loving for all seven years.

    • Richard Dean Anderson: You have to suspend disbelief a little bit to buy into your situation and to the story and to how the character will react. You have to tweak your credibility a little bit, is basically what it comes down to.

    • Richard Dean Anderson: They are a fairly aggressive conservation organization that was started to protect the great whales particularly, but in general all marine life around the world. So those are the people I'm trying to attach my name to.

    • Richard Dean Anderson: That was fun to play. There were some nice special effects coupled with some really nice moments with child and wife. I also was able to age to about 100 years in 'Brief Candle.'

    • Richard Dean Anderson: (about retiring) So it allows me to travel, I'll be doing that and running these great rivers and doing what I've done in the past without much purpose other than for the experience.

    • Richard Dean Anderson: (jokingly, about leaving Stargate SG1) Oh, who am I trying to kid? It's a madhouse. The minute those cameras go off, things just explode, everyone is just at each other in one way or another, in closets or cat fights here and there. It's nuts. You know, I can't be a part of it.

    • Richard Dean Anderson: I've also been working with the Challengers Club in the inner city of Los Angeles for 15 years now, I guess, and it's essentially an inner-city recreation club for boys and girls.

    • Richard Dean Anderson: I have to throw in this bone, and don't let this out, but I like most scenes that are written with Michael Shanks, especially written by Brad Wright because he understands the rhythm between the two of us and certainly the two characters.

    • Richard Dean Anderson: (about his daughter) Being away from her is torturous and I'd much prefer to be with her. So I just try to get out of here as soon as I can. I make sure I do my job real well and fast.

    • Richard Dean Anderson: Being a father, well, I don't know if this is a change, but it makes me want to get out of here faster. Get off the clock. Just cause the baby is my reason for living, my reason for coming to work.

    • Richard Dean Anderson: Dogs are my favourite people.

    • Reporter: The cast has a wonderful chemistry onscreen. What happens when the cameras go off?
Richard: I can't tell you anything about what happens after the cameras go off, mostly because I'm usually unconscious by then.

    • Reporter: How has your character, Brig. Gen. Jack O'Neill, changed since the beginning of the series? What part of him do you relate to the most?
Richard: Mostly what's changed has been his hair, I think.

    • Richard Dean Anderson: It's just a lot busier, basically. There's more to do as a producer. You have another responsibility or two or three.

Perhaps one of my favorite actors. I loved him in MacGyver, and could not get enough of him in SG-1. He always brought an air of amusement to the character of Colonel Jack O'Neill (Spelled with two l's) that I just loved. It truly disappointed me when he left SG-1. His character's relationship with Micheal's was just fantastic, especially how the two always played so well off of each other. He's character always had heart, and was quite often misunderstood and torn between the decisions he had to make. His humor and timing was always wonderful. This man is truly a great actor.moreless

    My Dream Guy....

One can see from the way his series succeed how gr8 he actually is... I mean first the famous Mcgyver.. then the longest sci fi series ever and in my opinion the greatest too. without him stargate sg1 just isn't the same... he added an extra something... even when he didn't have much text he was the most important one in the episode... his looks are just charming and then ofcors his SMILE just perfect... this half lips closing... he just looks amazing and he always plays the protector's roel who's the hero of each day and modest too... i rally love the way he acts... when he's playing dumb and just makes jokes out of the blue but at the same time he really makes all the difference... I wish to find my real life O'Neill... with the same character, appearence and SMILE

    Way To Go Rick =D =D =Dmoreless
