Richard Gere literally oozes charm. His good looks, killer smile and great acting has kept him in Hollywood as a main lead for decades.
He plays comedy, action and romantic roles with equal ease and some of his films have gone down as all time favorites.
I still remember his early films like An Officer and a Gentleman. He still had brown hair back then and he gave a fantastic performance of a young cocksure punk who gave the air of not needing anyone but deep inside was as vulnerable as anyone else. And who can forget Pretty Woman? His chemistry with Julia Roberts was stuff of legend. Even today, though he is past fifty his films are still very watchable.
Kind of cool, though I must say that it looks like his time has happened already. I have seen some of his recent works, and do not compare to those ones done before, I think that he was someone who was really good at his prime, but now seems to be forgetting himself. Still, I think that he is a very good actor, and I also think that he is great.
Richard Gere is a true actor and never, ever seems to age. You really believe that he got into acting because he loves it for what it is. You'll never see him in any tabloids and you won't hear any gossip about him. In his roles, you sense more realism than many other actor's who are considered more talented than he. Of all of his roles in all of his movies, my favorite has to be "Pretty Woman."
