  • A marvellous Australian actor who has a lot more to offer yet!

Most Australians, and indeed those from other countries who have seen his film roles are familiar with Richard Roxburgh. He has the happy knack of being able to take hold of a character and make them his own. In such Australian shows as "Halifax FP" and the mini-series "Tracks of Glory" with Cameron Daddo, Richard made a great impression on audiences.

More recently, he won critical acclaim for his role as former Australian Prime Minister, Bob Hawke, in the mini-series "Hawke" and, in November, 2010, will be taking the lead in the ABC legal comedy "Rake".

Richard is also known for his role as The Duke in "Moulin Rouge" and as Dracula in "Van Helsing". Given his talent, I am certain we shall see him in many more projects in the future.

Richard Roxburgh is one of those actors I'd seen around on Australian TV for a few years before it was realised how great an actor he actually is. He's been my favourite Sherlock Homes (TV), the crazy investor in Moulin Rouge, Dracula in Van Helsing and many many more fine roles. He is a truly great Aussie actor - up there with Geoffrey Rush.
