I'm a single parent and I just found that it was too difficult to manage raising my kids and doing the traveling involved in making movies. So I took a little bit of a break. And the little bit of a break turned into a longer break, and then I found that I really didn't miss it.

By the time I got to the point where I was "starring" in movies, and I had executives telling me what lines to say, that wasn't for me. I'm really not an actor. I'm a guy who comes out of comedy, and my impetus was always to rewrite the line to make it funnier, not to try to make somebody's precious words work.

    • Rick Moranis: (About his time working on SCTV) First, let me say that I have nothing but fond memories of the show. I had a blast. I had to pinch myself in the morning. I could not believe I was working with those people. I couldn't believe I was getting paid to do that stuff. It was one of the great periods of my career for me, if not the best.

    • Rick Moranis: (About his time working on SCTV) I miss the kind of work we were able to do on SCTV because that was a unique time for all of us. We were young, we didn't have any other kinds of distractions. We were all in Edmonton, where there was pretty much nothing else to do but work, and going over schedule or budget was common.

    Don't get me wrong. Rick Moranis is a great actor and all, since his roles in Little Shop of Horrors and Honey I Shrunk The Kids made him big, but I believe he's too much for us all. I mean, at some times he can get annoying. Then again, maybe he's not that annoying. He should probably take on some new challenges in his acting career, like playing an antagonist. I could get tired of him eventually and see him get dumped into a dumpster, but I doubt that'll ever happen!moreless

    Rick Moranis is a talented actor, hes played in all 3 honey movies, spaceballs, little giants, big bully, and Brother Bear. Hes been in other movies but those are the ones I've seen.



    Honey Movies- he played Wayne Szalinski, inthe first one he invents a mechine that accendially shrinks his and the neighbors kids, in the second one it has a reverse effect and one if there kids is turned into a 20 foot giant ,and in the third and final one he accidentally shrinks himself, his wife, and the neighbors parents. Great movies



    Spaceballs- He played Dark helmet, it was a spoof of Star Wars, Planet of the Apes, Star Trek, and Aliens. It was a really funny movie.



    The other movies he was in where great, hes a very funny actor.
