"I filmed my first commercial in 1994 with Cindy Crawford. It was a European pasta commercial. I played a karaoke-singing gangster trying to pick her up." Afterwards, Yune liked the experience so much that he started taking acting lessons.
Inspired by his uncle who was the first in his family to attend a prestigious college and become a doctor, Yune went to the University of Pennsylvania.
His parents sent him to military school and then to a Roman Catholic school. He got a black belt in Tae Kwon Do and the fights on his block continued.
He changed his last name from Yun to Yune for the Screen Actors Guild when he joined the acting profession.
Yune was discovered by an agent in 1994 after he had graduated when he was on his way to a job interview and was persuaded to become a male model.
Rick Yune is a first-generation American.
