It doesn't matter what Rip Torn is in, he always lends a bit of class (even if he is playing a low rent character) The first I saw of him was in the Bowie feature "The man who fell to earth" I noticed him again in Coma in 1978. He really came to prominence in The Larry Sanders Show where he and Garry Shandling were simply billiant. Of course he has hd parts in the Men in black movies but his performance was overshadowed here. It's graet to see Rip back on the screen in 30 Rock, the character of Don Geiss suits Rip right down to his boots.
I've seen Rip Torn in 4 movies, well 3 since all you heard was his voice in Disney's Hercules as Zeus.
Rip has always played funny characters and my favorite movies where Men in Black and Men in Black 2, the scene where he got his but kicked by Selena were priceless.
Rip always manages to play great characters, even if the characters aren’t suppose to be funny.
I like his style and I think that what I like him is that he has done several different things. I enjoy him in movies such as "Dodgeball" or "Men in Black" making very funny and very well played roles, though he seems very underappreciated. I really enjoy him and I really think that he is a very good actor.
