Robert has declined offers to produce then future blockbusters Airport (1970), The French Connection (1971), and Jaws (1975).
Robert married Phyllis George on April 14, 1977. They divorced on July 22, 1978. They had no children together. Although the fourth wife for Robert, this was the first marriage for Phyllis.
