The actor Robert Hays was born on July 24th, 1947. An American, Hays graduated from San Diego State University and was a veteran of the San Francisco Theater. He was married to actress Cherie Currie with whom he had a son. He debuted on TV in the 70s as a co-star in the television movie
Young Pioneers. In 1979 Hays was a lead on the sitcom
Angie.. He is probably most noted for his role in the 1980s movie
Airplane and it's 1982 sequel
Airplane 2. Hays has also done voice work for the animated version of Marvel Comics'
Ironman. Hays' career faltered slightly
… More because of the lack of success of projects such as Starman (airing in 1986) and FM from 1989. Nevertheless Hays still managed to make occassional appearances during the 90s. He later starred in Homeward Bound: An Incredible Journey in 1993.
