Robert Michael Morris was born and raised in Kentucky, joined a religious order (The Society of Mary), received a BA degree in English and Art majors from the University of Dayton and an MFA in Playwriting from the Catholic University of America; toured American with a classical theatre group; taught high school in Pittsburgh, Memphis, Toronto, Cleveland, Washington, D.C., Downey and San Gabriel, CA; taught college in Erie, PA and Urbana, OH.
Along the way he did summer stock (Kenley Players, Apple Hill Playhouse), musical theatre (Pittsburgh Civic Light Opera), community and academic theatre (Erie, PA, Washington, D.C.); television (Pittsburgh, Washington, D.C., New York, Los Angles), and movies (Washington, D.C., New York). To stay alive he worked as a party decorator in NYC, Radio City Music Hall, a stage manager of Cloud 9, and as a secretary to the brilliant Sydney Glazier. During all this time, he was writing plays; and completed over forty five scripts. He has no favorite style and enjoys writing comedies as well as dramas. Many of his scripts have been honored with awards and productions across the U.S..
