Biography:

A prolific television director and producer, Stevens was the major force behind the live drama series Suspense which began on CBS in 1949. Later, he was a principle director and collaborator with Alfred Hitchcock on his series Alfred Hitchcock Presents (winning an Emmy for directing the episode The Glass Eye and a Directors Guild of America nomination for the episode Never Again). He later directed the pilot episode for Twilight Zone titled Where is Everybody?. He met a tragic death, having a heart attack during a brutal robbery at a rental summer home in Westport, Connecticut.
