Roberta Maxwell is a Canadian actress who was born in 1942 in Toronto, Ontario. She began studying acting in 1954 and was the co-host of Junior Magazine from 1957 to 1959. She apprenticed at the Stratford Shakespeare Festival from 1960 to 1964, where she played various roles including Ursula in Much Ado About Nothing, Anne in The Merry Wives of Windsor and Lady Anne in Richard III. Maxwell studied theater in London from 1964 to 1967, where she appeared in A Majority of One with Robert Morley and Molly Picon. She went on to play recurring roles in many television series, especially soap operas and historical mini-series. Maxwell's best known role is that of Jean Lipton in the Canadian drama Airwaves, which ran from 1986 to 1990. She won Obie Awards for her performances in two televised plays, Whistle in the Dark in 1970 and Ashes in 1977. Maxwell most recently appeared in two episodes of the science fiction series Warehouse 13, once in 2009 and again in 2010.
