Roma Downey is most famous for her starring role on the highly successful television show, Touched by an Angel. She earned a bachelor's degree at Brighton Art College in England, and later went on to attend the London Drama Studio where she starred in many of the classics: Shakespeare, Shaw, and Checkov. Roma also performed in numerous stage productions while touring America with Dublin's famous Abbey Players including "The Playboy of the Western World." In addition to staring in many plays she has stared in many CBS telepics, some of which she produced.







… More She was first married to Leland Orser, but they were divorced. She wed a director from Touched by an Angel. That union gave her a daughter, Reilly Marie, but this marriage ended in divorce. Roma is currently married to reality-show producer Mark Burnett, 46. Burnett proposed to Downey during their 2006 Thanksgiving trip to Mexico. The couple started dating in 2004 and both have children from previous marriages. Burnett has two sons, ages 13 and 10, and Downey has a daughter, Reilly Marie, who is now 10.

    Great actress. hide show

    Her most famous role was on Touch by an Angel. That role exposed me to a very good actress in Roma Downey. Perhaps she is one of the main reasons why the show had as much success as it did. But she made it interesting with her unique ability to suck you in to the storyline and the show itself. I haven't seen her other bits of work, but I have seen enough of her work to realize that she is talented and also a very good actress. Overall, she will be known for her role as an angel on a show. Thank you.

    a fave from the start hide show

    she was and is a personal fae, I love the show touched by an angel. it may seem hokey, but I think Angels have touched my life, my Husband and I faced a terrible thing, then one day it was just gone.. Angels IMHO, had alot too do with that
    so since I have been touched by an angel I love the show even more

    Roma is an amazing! From a combat zone in N. Ireland, she is the American dream! Having lost her mum at 10 and then her father afterwards. She is my hero. I never give quotes about actors, I myself being one. She continues to help in charities! actor Decl hide show

    Having lived myself in N. Ireland, I am blown away at someone like Roma, how she has picked herself up off the ground and become a big success in many areas of her life! She has done a tremendous job with her life! My hats off to her here always!
