Ronald Lacey was a British actor of film and television who made a number of movies through the course of his life, but who is perhaps best remembered for his role in the popular film Indiana Jones: Raiders of the Lost Ark. Born in London on September 28, 1935, Lacey went on to attend the London Academy of Music and Dramatic Art with dreams of becoming an actor. He first starred on TV in 1961 in a play called The Secret Agent. He continued in theater and stage plays, and his distinctive features always managed to land him in eccentric roles. Throughout the next two decades he continued to appear on television in shows like Civilisation and Porridge. It was his appearance in Raiders of the Lost Ark which secured him a future in acting. He went on to appear in Sahara, Red Sonja, and Firefox. He was married twice, had four children, and died in 1991.
