Biography:

Ruben Santiago-Hudson grew up in Lackawanna, N.Y., in a loving household provided by the woman who took him in when he was abandoned by his birth mother. He was able to attend college and earned not only a BA in Theatre from Binghamton University, but an MFA from Wayne State University. He may be best known for the autobiographical play he wrote (and later performed in), called Lackawanna Blues. The play was adapted into an award winning movie and shown on HBO. Ruben guest starred on numerous TV series such as Law & Order, before his hire by ABC to play Capt. Roy Montgomery on the hit series, Castle.
