Ruby, in each of her incarntions in the UK (sketch comic, talk show host, eminence gris behind the Absolutely Fabulous series has proven herself one of the golden writer performers of American (and by default) Transatlantic comedy. That she's relegated to a footnote in Britain and remains almost unknown in the States is one of the great injustices of all TV. Just her return to her Chicago high school reunion would have put her in a Hall of Fame -- somebody's Hall of Fame. At least mine.
