    • Rudy made his first film in 1929, Radio Rhythm, a 9 minute short featuring him and his Connecticut Yankees band playing several short numbers in the style of his radio programs.

    • Rudy's style of dress, wearing a black tuxedo with a long black overcoat and a white silk scarf around his neck, was popularized again in 1984 by Holly Johnson, lead singer for "Frankie Goes To Hollywood," in the music video for "Relax," as well as his appearance in the movie Body Double that same year.
