Ruth Jones is best known for her comedic roles as Myfanwy the barmaid in Little Britain and as Nessa in Gavin And Stacey (a show which she co-writes with James Corden).

Born in late 1966, she was educated at Porthcawl Comprehensive School (where she knew Rob Brydon) and then went on to the University of Warwick. She graduated from Warwick in 1988 with a BA in Theatre Studies And Dramatic Arts. A member of the National Youth Theatre of Wales as a teenager, she then trained at the Royal Welsh College of Music and Drama in Cardiff.
