OK, I agree to some extent with the above review, but it does signify a fundamental shift in the media's attitudes towards the female sex, as exemplified in the character of The Bill's plain-clothes (!) copper Jo Masters.moreless

The undoubted physical attributes of Miss Rogers would once have consigned her to sexpot or temptress roles exclusively. Think back to voluptuous actresses like Sabrina in the 1960s who were dumped into the famous-for-being-famous bin; whether they had any talent or not was never established. Here we have a woman who happens to have an extravagant figure and the producers take the unusual tack of simply not mentioning it at all. Masters is a CID officer first and foremost and she's all business -- for once we do not get the almost obligatory cop-show scene where any policewoman sooner or later has to go undercover as a scantily-clad streetwalker!moreless
