  • Quotes

    • Sandra: (about having a private wedding) I have a friend who once said, "If you invite People Magazine to your wedding, then they should be allowed to come to the divorce". If we wanted our marriage to be public, it would have been. Oh, the money we could have made!

    • Sandra: Miss Congeniality is the furthest thing from me. I relate to the woman in Crash – not the bigotry but the rage. That came easily. My brother-in-law says Premonition is close to the real me. But how can we ever know? I know who I am.

    • Sandra: My mother looked like a combination of Jackie O and Maria Callas. She always said 'Be original.' I understand that now more than ever.

    • Sandra: (on opening a restaurant in Austin) It's the male side of me. I do have one. It used to fight with the female, and now they don't fight anymore.

    • Sandra: Everything happened when it was supposed to – and everything happened when I was ready for it.

    • Sandra: I've learned that success comes in a very prickly package. Whether you choose to accept it or not is up to you. It's what you choose to do with it, the people you choose to surround yourself with. Always choose people that are better than you. Always choose people that challenge you and are smarter than you. Always be the student. Once you find yourself to be the teacher, you've lost it.

    • Sandra: I have an expensive hobby, buying homes, redoing them, tearing them down and building them up the way they want to be built. I think I would go back to school to be an architect.

    • Sandra: Directing a film was a good education. I learned how disgusting actors are.

    • Sandra: I think that's the problem with sequels. You sort of want to stay true to the first one and when you do it you sometimes go too much back to the first one and just repeat what you did before. If you go too far from the first one you lose what it was.

    • Sandra: (after taking 18 months off) I just needed to do some other stuff. I wanted a life again. I'm sort of a workaholic and I use that as an excuse not to stop. And I didn't know what was going on in my life anymore or what time I liked to get up anymore what I liked to for a living or who I was.

    • Sandra: I don't know if I always want to be in front of the camera. I love producing, I love the camaraderie. I love the adventures. I love the stress. It's sort of an investment with the next step of my career; where I want to do. I love watching people be creative, and being amazing and putting those people together. Fun stories. It is the other part of my life which I'm moving more towards. Less desire to be in front of the cameras. So it's both.

    • Sandra: (about murder and violent crimes) It's been going on for thousands of years, but until we've had the media we haven't been able to bring it to the public eye. Lately it seems like there's an influx of these events. Maybe there is. Maybe there isn't, but it's something that does need to be addressed now because we need to look at our society. And we need to look at our home life. What is it that's making these people so young, so unhappy, so angry and so capable of doing something like this. You know, I think unless you address it, it's not going to be solved.

    • Sandra: (on her film "Murder by Numbers") I do whatever turns me on at the moment. And I wanted to do a psychological thriller. I didn't think I would find one. I'd been looking for a couple of years.

    • Sandra: (about her film "Murder by Numbers") Show what makes you uncomfortable as possible and address issues. You're dealing with violence, abuse, spousal abuse. You're dealing with this weird subject matter in this film. You have a tale that in the end has a moral solution; which is, you cannot negate your life. You have to own up to it. You can't suppress what exists already. And as an adult, you're responsible for that.

    • Sandra: (Sandra thanks her husband during an acceptance speech) And I'd like to thank my boyfriend whom I happen to be married to. You inspire me with the good loving you give me every day - and especially last night! Really, you have NO idea.

    • Sandra: (about what she will do with her 'Best Supporting Actress' award) Yeah, I'm just going to put it on the dash of my car. I'm gonna replace the hula girl with whatever the award looks like.

    • Sandra: When I come to meet the press to publicise my films, I get free food, so that's a day when I saved some money, which has to be a good thing!

    • Sandra: Makeup is scary. When I do it myself, it's just mascara, and sometimes I forget even to do that.

    • Sandra: I was a contestant in the Tobacco Queen Festival. I did a spicy little jazz number for my talent. That's what's going to show up on video.

    • Sandra: I do a little butt watching. I look at Matthew McConaughey's naked butt.

    • Sandra: I can remember the first and last names of every single person that terrorized me in junior high. It taught me to be incredibly kind to people.

    • Sandra: I can install toilets. I know all about the wax ring. I can tile floors. I'm learning how to do basic wiring.

    • Sandra: I basically became a cheerleader because I had a very strict mom. That was my way of being a bad girl.

    • Sandra: I always fear that's it's hard for a guy to be with me. I'm probably every guy's worst nightmare, because I will not listen.

    • Sandra: Great acting may be a turn-on, but it won't make me fantasize about the person for a week.

    • Sandra: Forensics I've always found absolutely fascinating. Anything to do with clues. And checking things out and solving.

    • Sandra: Falling in love-you should go with it, regardless of whether or not your heart gets smashed. You'll be a better person.

    • Sandra: After a while, you have no idea how old you are because you've lied so many times.

    • Sandra: There's something sexy about a gut. Not a 400-pound beer gut, but a little paunch. I love that.

    • Sandra: Everyone told me to pass on Speed because it was a bus movie.

    • Sandra: I don't like to talk about personal things. ... And by keeping it private, you have a better shot at a healthy relationship. I learned at a young age that there are certain things you just don't talk about.

    • Sandra: The Acadamy Awards shouldn't even nominate Meryl Streep anymore. She should just be given an award every year. There should just be the Meryl Streep category.

    • Sandra: Fame means when your computer modem is broken, the repair guy comes out to your house a little faster.

    • Sandra: I've always been very sceptical about marriage, because I only want to do it once; I want to do it the right way.

    • Sandra: Beginnings are usually scary and endings are usually sad, but it's the middle that counts. You have to remember this when you find yourself at the beginning.

    • Sandra: The key to any good relationship, on-screen and off, is communication, respect and I guess you have to like the way the other person smells - and he smelled real nice.

    • Sandra: Women are like ovens. We need 5 to 15 minutes to heat up.

    • Sandra: I love humor. I always will fall back on humor. That's something that I think you can't ever get enough of and if it's done well, it's great. When it's bad, it's horrible.

    • Sandra: I didn't know Bacardi should be mixed with anything so I just drank it straight. My mom took me to hospital because she thought I'd taken drugs.

    • Sandra: He (her husband) dresses me. I said I want a jumpsuit and he's got a clothing company and he made me a jumpsuit. On her husband designing some of her clothing.

Sandra Bullock is one of those actresses that you could watch all day and not get tired of. Some actresses have a certain personality that makes it harder to enjoy the movie or show, but Sandra is different. When she's acting, she doesn't seem snobby or bratty. She's seems at home and natural. When she laughs or smiles, you want to laugh and smile too. She can be serious, yet she can be funny and goofy at the same time. Some of my favorite movies of hers are: Miss Congeniality, Two Weeks Notice, Hope Floats, Speed, Speed 2, and While You Were Sleeping.moreless
