  • Quotes

    • Rogen: (On appearing in Knocked Up (2007) and Pineapple Express (2008)) You know, I never had a girlfriend before and I thought it would masculinize me. But it's actually done the opposite. Now I know about accent walls and the whole world of throw pillows.

    • Seth: When I first moved to LA, I went out to meet with agencies, and one of them asked me what my goals were. I said "to be in a Kevin Smith movie". That goal has not changed.

    • Rogen: (On writing and starring in The Green Hornet) Nerds love complaining. You go to Ain't It Cool News, and everybody complains about everything. They could find out Jesus Christ was making a movie with Frank Miller, and they'd say, 'That's a terrible combination!

    • Rogen: (On Judd Apatow) I couldn't say enough great things about him. He's the reason I'm not a homeless crack-head right now.

    • Seth: I remember when I got my first Adam Sandler CD and it was the funniest thing I'd ever heard in my entire life, and continues to be.

    • Seth: I guess what Judd Apatow is to me, is what Terrence Malick is to David Gordon Green. They're just good friends.

    • Seth: My mom's a social worker and my dad works in non-profit organizations. But they seem very radical in American terms, embracing a form of socialism that really doesn't even exist here. I mean, where I come from, communism is not a terrible word.

    • Rogen: It shocks me that "90210" (2008) and Superbad (2007) are technically considered part of the same genre. It was as much TV shows as movies that made us feel under-represented. No part of me watched "90210" (2008) and thought, 'Yeah! that's what my life is like!' It seemed like a different planet. I mean, I like shitty movies as much as the next guy, I'm not a snob, but things like that had no guys like us in it - that was the point.

    • Seth: (talking about his family's reaction to "Pineapple Express") My mom never caught me masturbating, so this is the next best thing I guess. (laughs) Everyone needs to humiliate themselves in front of their parents somehow.

    • Seth: (about "40 Year Old Virgin") The way we approach story is always from a very emotionally-driven point. As funny as the movie may have ended up being, we were very aware that unless you bought that these guys were kind of real guys and that you actually cared about them, none of it would work at all. It could be the funniest thing ever, but if there's no kind of emotional truth to it, then people just wouldn't care about it in the same way.

    • Seth: (about "Dawson's Creek") I can safely say I've never seen a single episode of that show, including the one I'm in!

    • Seth: (On Judd Apatow) I couldn't say enough great things about him. He's the reason I'm not a homeless crackhead right now.

    • Seth: (On the ratings system) You can blow up people and still get a PG-13 tag, but the ratings board moves faster than a speeding bullet to slap an R on any movie as soon as sex enters the picture.

    • Seth: (Seth is good friends with director Judd Apatow) We're just good friends. We get along really well and if you can work with your friends, why not do it? It just kind of makes work feel like hanging out. And we have a very similar sense of humor so it just seems easy. That's why we do it. We're both lazy.

    • Seth: I remember when I got my first Adam Sandler CD and it was the funniest thing I'd ever heard in my entire life, and continues to be.

    • Seth: I was in high school when Will Ferrell was first on Saturday Night Live, and I remember thinking man, that guy is the funniest guy ever.
