Years later, however, Gilbert claims that Shannen slept with her first husband while they were separated, but not yet divorced. Since then, the two actresses have had very minimal contact with each other, aside from a small confrontation that they had at an awards show while Shannen's hit show, Beverly Hills, 90210, was popular.

    • Shannen fondly remembers playing 10-year-old Jenny Wilder on Little House on the Prairie for a year. She claims that in her entire career, she has never worked with a "more affectionate group," going on to say that "everyone in the cast was family."

    • On the set of Beverly Hills, 90210, when Shannen used to come in late and make up lame excuses, her co-star Ian Ziering finally lost it and called her a c***, and then, after a few seconds of dead silence, said, "Can't Understand Normal Thinking." Tori Spelling, who also starred on the show, said this was a really shocking moment, because Ziering was a typically sweet guy who never said a bad thing about anyone.

    • Part of Tori Spelling's autobiographical memoir, which was released in early 2008, discussed Shannen's bad behavior on the set of 90210. Spelling talked about how Shannen "took her under her wing" and introduced her to her partying ways, but despite Shannen's bad girl ways, Spelling liked her and was friends with her. However, as Shannen's behavior worsened, Spelling "didn't want to betray her," but she finally agreed to support the decision to have Shannen fired from the show. "When she left, I felt the same as everyone else, like I could breathe again," Spelling wrote.

    • It is unknown exactly why her character Prue Halliwell was killed off in the season three finale of Charmed. Rumors exist which claim she and co-star Alyssa Milano had a strained relationship and frequently held up production because of their off-screen arguments, whilst others claim that Shannen just got bored of the series and wanted to quit. • Quotes

    • Shannen: Look, there are three things that have allowed me to work for as long as I've worked. The first is my fans. The second is my talent. And the third is my competitive nature. I hate sucking at anything.

    • Shannen: (In 2008, about Tori Spelling writing negative things about her in her autobiography) I had certain pages sent to me. The vast majority of it was over-exaggerated. Maybe it's just a difference in how I was raised. I just don't think you write personal experiences about your co-stars in a book. In 27 years of acting, I have never sold out any of my cast members, and I will stick to that.

    • Shannen: (on reuniting with former rival Jennie Garth for the 90210 spinoff) The only bad thing was that while we were trying to catch up with each other, people were constantly watching us. Every single eyeball was on us. I don't know what they were expecting. I was more interested in talking to Jennie about Dancing With the Stars. I thought she was amazing. Of course I voted for her.

    • Shannen: I've always been a bit of a loner. I love hanging out with my friends, but it gets to a point where I'm like, "Okay, that's enough. Go home. I need to be alone!"

    • Shannen: (disputing Tori Spelling's claims that Shannen and Jennie Garth came to blows on Beverly Hills, 90210) We never did. I think I would remember Jennie's fist connecting with a part of my body or a part of my face. It just goes to show you how people will lie.

    • Shannen: (on being in the 90210 spinoff) It started with someone calling my agent and saying, "Is this something she would do?" I was like, "Play Brenda Walsh again? Why would I do that?" There were 'I Hate Brenda' newsletters! She was exhausting to play. She had so much teen angst. I couldn't take it anymore. But then my friends started sending me links to all these websites that wanted me back. I was so incredibly overwhelmed that it got me thinking. Everything I have is because of the fans. This was my way of saying thank you.

    • Shannen: (On returning to 90210) It would be so irresponsible of me to mess things up again. Because I feel like... I have this weird responsibility. I pushed and I tested those boundaries and there's a reason why I've been given so many chances.

    • Shannen: The fortunate thing is that I've been working in this business for so long, and I have strong parents who taught me not to let that stuff go to my head. It's just a job. Some people make french fries at McDonald's. I get my hair and make-up done and go act. It's all the same thing in the long run.

    • Shannen: (on former co-star Tori Spelling's accusations about her in her autobiography) I don't know what her deal is. I thought it was funny. Didn't read it, nor would I. My friends called me and were like, "Oh, she said this and this." It just goes to show you how people will lie. I'm not quite sure what Tori's memories are, but when you work on a set, it's a very sacred and private experience. It's not supposed to end up in a book for somebody to make money off of.

    • Shannen: (about her former "bad girl" reputation) Yeah, yeah, I'm the evil witch. I get it. But you know, things were never as bad as people seemed to think they were.

    • Shannen: I definitely lived my life like I wasn't in the public eye.

    • Shannen: When I was 27, my mom said, "Honey, don't pretend this stuff isn't hurting you. If you go through your whole life being so self-protective, you're going to feel sad a lot." Something about what she said woke me up. I realized that I would rather have people know me as the shy, awkward person I am than the tough bitch. I got rid of a lot of people in my life. And after lots of therapy, and lots of patience and love from my family, I started to allow myself to open up.

    • Shannen: (on her reputation for bad behavior) At the time, my grandparents told my mom, "Lordy, what is Shannen doing?". Now I've calmed down.

    • Shannen: Everybody deserves a second chance in this world. That's basically all I ask.

    • Shannen: It's better to be the rejecter than the rejectee.

    • Shannen: (On her Beverly Hills 90210 exit) Let me start by saying it wasn't like I walked out one day and said, "I quit". It was a very long process of quitting the show. Aaron got as fed up with me as I was with the show, and I think it was because the notoriety was too much. People were hating the character and I couldn't take the abuse that came with that. People couldn't separate me from her and I got sick of people assuming that I was as naughty and bad as Brenda was. It was all very hurtful.

    • Shannen: (Speaking in 2001, on her reasons for leaving Charmed) There was too much drama on the set and not enough passion for the work. You know, I'm thirty years old and I don't have time for drama in my life anymore. I'll miss Holly a lot, you know, that's the only thing I want to clear up. She's one of my best friends, and I love her dearly, and there were never, ever problems between the two of us, and we will always be friends. She doesn't know if she's going back to the show because she doesn't want to be there without me. I want to work with actors who really, really care and that want to be there every single day. I don't want to work with people who complain about their job and they say they hate it.

    • Shannen: Does it hurt me that people think I'm a bad girl? Absolutely. It used to make me crazy and depressed and sad.

    • Shannen: I only want to do quality parts. I want to show that you can believe in yourself and your talent... and that you can say "no" to crummy parts.

    • Shannen You can turn any experience into a learning experience. Every experience helps you live your life.

    • Shannen: I'm open to different ideas, but if you get on my bad side and don't listen to me and if you don't treat me with such as you treat a man, you've got a problem.

    • Shannen: (on her new role as host of Breaking Up with Shannen Doherty) I think it's kind of obvious what expertise I have. I've certainly been through a couple of relationships, as we all know, and some marriages.

    • Shannen: If God wanted us to be naked, why did he invent sexy lingerie?

    • Shannen: (asking her interviewer) Have you ever felt like a phone call that's been disconnected?

    • Shannen: Your life changes. Everything has to be done perfectly, and I didn't follow that. I lived my life as if I wasn't in the public eye. I thought, 'I'm young. I have the right to experience new things, and if I want to go to a bar and get drunk, that's my prerogative.'

    • Shannen: To be a b*tch or not a b*tch, that is the question.

    • Shannen: All my fans tell me what a glamorous life I have, but I tell them how hard I work and how many nights I spend alone with my dogs, eating chicken pot pie in my bedroom.

    • Shannen: (on finding Mr. Right) I don't need to settle for anything less than Mr Right. I'm a little too old to be making the same mistakes. But here's the funny part. I never leave the house, so I don't know how I'm gonna find him. The guy who delivers the newspaper? Are you cute? I hope so, 'cause that's the guy I'm gonna meet - seriously. I go to work and I come home.

    • Shannen: I wish I had conducted myself better on occasion and been more private, but I would rather live my life to the fullest than constantly conduct myself in a certain way to gain approval from others, I've always been outspoken about my opinions, and there's something to be said for having the courage to just live your life. I have regrets but no apologies.

    • Shannen: (on auditioning) Even when I'm called in for an audition or anything, and even when I have to meet other actors/tresses, or be in front of the camera, I get goosebumps.

    • Shannen: (on the state of her personal life) I've been very, very, very happily single since October - I ended my previous relationship, and it thrills me to no end. I'm just sort of hanging out and being a single girl and enjoying the moment. I think to just be a girl and have fun is so incredibly important.

    • Shannen: (on tabloid articles) You know, as far as I'm concerned, whatever they write, it's consisted of so many different lies that it's not even worth justifying it.

  • I love Shannen Doherty but shes not the nices person

    10
Shannen Doherty is such an amazing actress but not the nicest person which has got her fired from a couple of shows like beverly hills and charmed but some people think she quit charmed because she wasn't working well with Aylssa Milno who is a better actress I think. I'm not sure what I think but I think maybe she might have quit. I wish she was a nicer person then she might get more acting jobs I haven't seen her on anything in ages I only really liked her on charmed though. I think Alyssa Milno should get loads more work than she has I thnk the only show shes been on is charmed the same with Holly Maria Combs. peace out charmed fansmoreless
