Shaun is good friends with Skateboarding Legend Tony Hawk. Tony has been working with Shaun to improve his snowboarding and skateboarding skills from the age of 9.

Shaun won first place in the 2006 Dew Action Sports Tour's Right Guard Open in Skate Vert.

Shaun's first pro competition win was in 2005 at the Panasonic Open of the Dew Action Sports Tour.
