Shavar Ross is an African-American actor and filmmaker, born in New York. When he was 6 years old, his parents separated; his father went to Los Angeles, and his mother moved him and his sister to Macon, Georgia.
Shavar's first television role was on "Diff'rent Strokes", where he played Gary Coleman's best friend. He also appeared in the fifth film in the "Friday the 13th" series.
In 1996, Shavar founded a non-denominational Christian church in Los Angeles. Married since 1992 with two children, Shavar has his own film production company and his own syndicated radio program.
