Sheryl is 5'5½" (1.66 m) tall.

As her career progresses, Lee has gained a reputation for appearing nude on stage, screen, and television. Though she claims she hates it, the nudity she displays is never exploitative, rather she imbues it with an ethereal quality that defies tawdriness.

One of her more famous stage roles was that of the title role in the New York production of Salome in which she starred opposite Al Pacino.

In 1995, Sheryl was honored with the Women in Film's "Woman of the Year" Award. Her body of work was also recognized as she received the Spirit of Sundance Award at the Sundance Film Festival that same year.

She first acted at Fairview High School in a school play entitled The Bad Seed and knew, from that moment that she wanted to become an actress.

Her mother is an artist while her father is an architect. She has a younger sister, a piano teacher, and a younger brother who used to be in college pursing a career in the film business.

She has been married to musician Jesse Diamond, son of singer-songwriter
Neil Diamond, since October 28, 2000. They have a son, Elijah (b. May 2nd 2000).

Lee was the original choice for the role of Mary-Alice Young on
Desperate Housewives. Had the producers decided to go with her, it would have been the second time Lee would have portrayed a dead character on a television series.

Sheryl is an avid member of PETA (People for the Ethical Treatment of Animals) and has assertively campaigned against fur and mistreatment of animals.
