Sienna: It's happiness that makes you glow. Oh, and maybe just a little touch of fake tan!

Sienna: (Defending smoking in her movie "The Edge of Love"). It was the 40s and everyone smoked then. In the 40s it was wartime and everyone was living on the edge and it looks beautiful, its part of the director John Maybury's world.

Sienna: (refusing to confirm she had split with Rhys Ifans) I'm sorry but I can't comment. I have this habit, I'm such a people pleaser and out of insecurity I think all people care about is my private life. They don't want to read about my opinions on film or f****ing politics. I feel like I've indulged that need for approval for too long. It's no one's business any more. It's too hurtful. I have to learn to censor myself.

Sienna: (on learning to live with the paparazzi attention) I play these games to make it more amusing, like I'm Lara Croft from Tomb Raider or something.

Sienna: (after feeling harrassed by photoagraphers at LA airport in May 2008) Certain aspects obviously I understand, but running down the street with 10 men chasing you isn't very fun. I don't find it easy. I mean, I'm a girl on my own sometimes walking my dogs and have to run home with grown men chasing me.

Sienna: I have a very, very, very great relationship with wine. We have been together for about 10 years now and we just love each other. I like European and all different types. We are very happy.

Sienna: (on rumours she will act in the next "Bond" movie) How can I be the next Bond girl? My cellulite wouldn't look very good in a bikini. Let's face it, my so-called fabulous shape is the result of very clever airbrushing - I have small boobs and cellulite. I don't really exercise and I eat all the burgers I want. I do feel my metabolism slowing down (but) I'm lucky because I'm young. But I'd rather be lumpy and heavy than skinny and miserable.

Sienna: It makes me angry that I have been linked to every single actor I have ever met. I've just come out of a relationship I was in for three years, and before that I was in a relationship for two years, so I've actually had a boyfriend for five years. But I have this reputation that I've s***ged this bloke and this bloke. There's no truth in most of this. I meet Josh Hartnett and suddenly people are wondering what our babies would look like. Because I'm inherently rebellious, I think, 'Why can't I have male friends who are actors? This is my world. Why should I change and be discreet, that isn't who I am.'

Sienna: (on cigarettes) I love them. Love them. I think the more positive approach you have to smoking, the less harmful it is.

Sienna: (revealing she lost her virginity at 16 years of age) I had my first serious boyfriend when I was 16 and my mother made sure I brought him home. She didn't want me doing it outside and would say, 'I'd rather you did it in my house if you're going to do it at all.' It was a very open household but I only brought home guys I really liked. My mother was very warm and accepting of anything we got into as children.

Sienna: I have to sleep on the right side of the bed. I don't know why. ... I dip my French fries into chocolate milk shakes. I've never had a sex dream.

Sienna: (refuting claims she had actual sex with Hayden Christensen while filming "Factory Girl") It's not true at all. Oh, darling, that is so horrible. You obviously don't know anything about making movies. When you do a love scene, there are five or six people on the set at a minimum.

Sienna: In a world where you're encouraged to have your universe revolve around yourself, suddenly it doesn't. I know I want that, because I have way too much love to give. If I have a child, it can all go there. Life, I think, will suddenly make sense.

Sienna: (laughing about a photo shoot with a monkey for "Esquire" magazine) To make the monkey respond, you're meant to blow at its mouth so it'll kiss you. But it stuck its tongue out! So, I sort of made out with a monkey! It was a sweet monkey but, no, that's too much.

Sienna: (vowing never to date an older man) They (mature men) want a sophisticated woman. But then I can also behave like a crazy young thing ... and they can't keep up.

Sienna: (saying Jude's infidelity drove her into therapy, which only lasted one session) There were times when I felt it was all too much. I needed to talk to someone about it. She [the therapist] asked a particularly difficult question and I began hurling insults. It ended with me calling her a cow.

Elizabeth Hurley: (insulting Sienna's new short-style hairdo in October 2005) That's the thing about valuing trends above sexiness. It exposes your flaws. That cut exposes the poor girl.

Sienna: I love to spend a day in the sun at the beach, it is so relaxing. The sound of the waves crashing can be hypnotizing, and the warm sand is heaven to lie on. If I could, I would be there all day every day.

Sienna: I was walking down the street in London, when all of a sudden, I hear footsteps behind me, then people jumping out from all sides, and flashes everywhere. From a late night walk, in the pitch dark, by what I thought to be by myself, to the center of the world in one minute is ridiculous.

Sienna: The paparazzi is terrifying and infuriating to me. I will probably pull out of the acting profession because of them, they are legal stalkers, and if the laws do not change, my profession will.

Sienna: I am really just quite tired of it all...I met up with a cheating heart, my soul was squeezed, and I left. It happens, and most people don't have an audience to answer to.

Sienna: It's judgement day, and I am nervous. My films are finally being released.

Sienna: I went to an all-girls boarding school for most of my youth. We used to do stupid, fun girly things like pull tights over our faces and streak through the lacrosse pitch. And once I snogged the gardener.

Sienna: I'm English, definitely. I don't feel like I'm American in any way.

Sienna: I am a pretty good cook. I love it. Italian, English--I do a mean roast chicken. I love cooking. It's kind of a therapy and I can zone out completely.

Sienna: I've got this group of friends that are quite bohemian - we get drunk, get the poetry books out and read. It sounds so pretentious, but it's one of my favourite things.
