. Since then, he has been seen on television shows including multiple episode appearances on MADtv, Studio 60 on the Sunset Strip, and Joey. He often portrays awkward, geeky characters and/or characters who are Jewish.

In 2007, Simon landed a major role as, Howard Wolowitz, a highly-intellectual and overly-confident engineer, in the CBS' comedy The Big Bang Theory. The following year, Helberg also appeared in Joss Whedon's musical webisodes Dr. Horrible's Sing-Along Blog.

A great actor who usually portrays a nerd, but always does it brilliantly. hide show

How this man pulls off skinny jeans and turtlenecks, I can't figure out. But what I can figure out is his humor. As creepy as his character may seem on the Big Bang Theory, Simon succeeds in portraying the character in a fun and oddly charming way. But BBT fans aren't the only ones who can appreciate him. Simon had a small but memorable part in Joss Whedon's "Dr. Horrible," and he never failed to make me laugh when watching "A Cinderella Story" years ago (though at the time I had no idea who he was). Overall, many of his parts have been secondary, but still, he hasn't been getting as much attention as he deserves!
