When Francine hears that her sister Katherine is fasting for Yom Kippur, she wants to do it too, even though she isn't technically required to until she's 12. She's sure that she can make it through 25 hours without food, but then learns that Arthur is having a pizza party on the day of Yom Kippur. Francine is determine to tough it out, but finds her willpower beginning to drain as the day rolls on. #120102 "Never, Never, Never" D.W. has received many toys from Grandma Thora over the years, so many that they're just about taking over her room. Mrs. Read tells her to box some of the toys and give them to charity, but D.W. gets upset, equating the toys with her Grandma Thora's love. She decides instead to give the toys-- all of her toys to her friends, just as long as they'll tell her how much they love her. The Tibbles are quick to declare their adoration, but D.W. finds later the truth (or lack of) of their words.moreless
#1110 "Big Brother Binky" When Binky's parents tell him that they're adopting from China, he isn't sure what to make of it at first. He learns that "adopting" means that he's going to become an actual big brother to a baby girl and will be heading to China to meet his new sister. Binky eagerly assists with preparations for the big trip and the new arrival, but begins to become concerned that his parents will no longer have any time for him. After his worries are eased, the big moment finally comes. At first, Binky is ill at ease around his new sister, who seems to cry a lot, but then discovers a special talent. The school's clothing drive seems like the perfect opportunity, but Muffy's ideas of charity don't exactly impress Francine. When he learns that his best-friend Buster prefers it over The Bionic Bunny Show, he fears their friendship may be at an end. He discovers that D.W. is frightened by some very unusual things. #11702 "Mr. Alwaysright" When Buster gets Brain's help in shopping for a hat for his Mom, he chooses to ignore his advice and finds that his Mom doesn't like the hat. Infuriated that Brain always seems to be right about everything, he soon takes to quizzing the Brain everywhere he goes, hoping to trip him up. Brain soon cottons on to what's happening, but also begins to realize what may really be troubling Buster.moreless
Arthur, Buster and D.W. enjoy summer vacation at the beach. When it becomes unsafe to swim, Grandma Thora suggests building a sandcastle and they quickly become immersed in this pastime. When the tide threatens to sweep away their castle, Arthur isn't ready to let it go.
Buster friends are getting tired of his unclean habits --- he plays hide-and-seek in trash cans, eats food that's been on the ground and doesn't always wash his hands. They've decided he needs to clean up, or they're not coming to his pool party. When they teach him about germs, however, he begins to fear them everywhere.
