Stephanie: (on leaving boyfriend, Nick Reiwoldt, behind when she launches her album in the UK) He's very supportive and understanding. As much as it's going to hurt, and as much as we're going to miss each other, he's very encouraging. He's told me that I have to do this; he understands why. We're strong enough to know that me living over there is not forever, and we'll have to stay strong.
-
Chloe Lattanzi: I knew she'd (Steph) be a star. Steph sparkles from the inside. She's luminous and people feel that as soon as they meet her.
-
Stephanie: (on "The Steph Show") There are a few teary moments. I was upset the night before my birthday and had been crying. My eyes were all puffy and I just wanted to tell them to go away. But that's part of the deal, you get whatever's happening - all the drama.
-
Stephanie: (on "The Steph Show") We started filming when we went to the US to record six tracks. It was surreal, the cameras were on the whole time there, then I'd suddenly think: 'Oh my God, I don't want people to see this!'
-
Chloe Lattanzi: (on her and Steph as children) My earliest memories are of us rollerblading together and playing with Steph's dogs. I spent a lot of time at her house and she used to come up to Mum's (Olivia Newton-John) farm near Byron Bay. We'd run through the forest together barefoot. I have really happy memories of those times we spent together.
-
Chloe Lattanzi: We (her and Steph) both had the desire to perform at an early age. It sounds so cheesy now, but we both loved to dance so we'd make up these little shows and do them in front of our parents.
-
Chloe Lattanzi: Steph is like a sister to me. We don't get to catch up as often as we'd like, but we have a bond. We click when we're together - it's like we were never apart.
-
Steph: (on filming birth scenes on Neighbours) The birth scenes were very full-on. It was pretty confronting. It was something that, when I was first given the storyline about a month beforehand, I thought I wanted to prepare for.
But in the end, I just left it to my body and the way I was feeling on the day - and it went well. Once I'd read the scene, I wanted it to be very natural. I really wanted to be in the moment, and not over-prepare and get the anxiety built up about it. I just let it be.
I was told by the nurse on set that every birth is different, so there's no wrong or right.
-
Steph: (on filming at Luna Park) It was so much fun. We went into Luna Park and the rides were going. Stephen Lovett (Max) and Nat Bassingthwaighte (Izzy) were also there on the day because they were doing a storyline as well. We had such a good time.
-
Stephanie: Working with Olivia Newton-John was unreal! But also felt a bit strange as she's a very long, close friend of my mum. And of course filming on the Gold Coast!
-
Steph: (on co star Ian Smith) It's been terrific working closely with Ian Smith, very supportive & a true professional.
-
Steph: I tend to wear a variety of styles. I like being casual, army pants and a t-shirt, thongs, or runners! Comfort is everything!
-
Steph: (on boyfriend, Nick) I would love to sing the national anthem at the Grand Final, but St Kilda would have to be in the GF - touch wood! He's really proud of me. It's not always easy because we have to spend a bit of time apart. But we get it and without that element we probably wouldn't work at all as a couple. But he's the first person that I play all of my tracks to and I really value his opinion.
-
Steph: (if she had to choose between acting and singing…) They're both so different and they're both great but, maybe at the end of he day I'd have to choose singing because it allows you to be more personal, whereas with acting you're always playing a character.
-
Steph: I'll always be an Aussie girl, Melbourne will always be home to me. But I would love to take my music overseas one day and the UK would be a great place to start because Neighbours is so big there. But, gosh, if I could crack the US market, that'd be brilliant!
-
Steph: (her favourite track on Tightrope) I'm a bit biased. I co-wrote the first track, "So Do I Say Sorry First". I never really thought of myself as a song-writer so it was really special that it was included on the album.
-
Steph: There's a song on the album called "Tightrope" and when it came to naming the album we all agreed that it was original yet appropriate for what we were trying to achieve: who isn't trying to find balance in their every day life?
-
Steph: (on the experienced people who worked on her album) I was totally overwhelmed! It's very surreal, nothing feels like it's really happening. I feel very privileged to have such important people working on my first album. I've never met such an amazing bunch.
-
Steph: I hope to do live shows as soon as possible. You can't really compare performing live to recording a song, but there are not plans yet to tour in the near future. Hopefully, by the end of the year, there'll be talk of a tour.
-
Steph: (her favourite country to visit) I was very lucky to get to go to Los Angeles and New York. New York was my favourite place to visit. It was just amazing.
-
Steph: (on being signed with a major record label) It all happened so fast! Glenn Wheatley is my manager and we worked out that this year was the year we wanted to launch my singing career. We recorded a few tracks and worked with a great musical producer. Then we sent a few demos to some of the big record labels and the rest is history.
-
Steph: (when asked if she aimed to get a record deal when she signed with Neighbours) No, I didn't grab the role of Sky thinking I would get a record deal out of it. But singing goes hand in hand with acting. Think of a school play: you need to be able to sing, dance and act. When Neighbours came up I was never going to knock that opportunity back, but timing is everything and now is the perfect time to launch my singing career.
