Stephen Macht, an American actor and teacher, was born in Philadelphia, Pennsylvania on May, 1 1942. After graduating from Dartmouth, College and receiving training at the London Academy of Music and Dramatic Arts, he became a successful working actor, appearing in a wide range of plays, movies and televisions shows over many years. In addition to his success as an actor, Macht is a noted acting teacher as well. He has taught at both Smith College in Massachusetts and Queens College in New York City. He has also directed many stage and television productions and has long been deeply involved in a variety of charitable causes, including The Jewish National Fund and the Parkinson's Resource Organization. He married his wife Susan Pullier in 1964. The couple has four children, including actor Gabriel Macht, as well as eight grandchildren. Mach remains an active performer and continues to make well-received appearances on stage and television.
