Steve Coombes is one of the UK's most successful television screenwriters. In the 1980's he toured as part of a comedy double-act with Dave Robinson. Afterwards, they went into writing starting with episodes of the sitcom Birds Of A Feather and then comedy drama with episodes of Frank Stubbs Promotes, Roughnecks, and five episodes of Lovejoy. After the duo broke up, Steve continued to write solo including among others Hustle and several episodes of New Tricks. Steve now spends the majority of his time developing his own original television ideas which include Sold (2007) and Outlaws (2004). In 2012 he wrote for the second season of the British television series Vexed. Since 2006 he's also made the occasional acting appearance in television and film shorts.
