Steve: In 1979, I bought my first muscle fitness magazine, saw Mr. America, and wondered what it would be like to be Mr. America. I gave myself 10 years.
(On why he's a fan of Garth Brooks)
Steve: He's a good ol' boy, like me!
Steve: The Gauntlet is brutally punishing for the contender. They're coming at us, but we have weapons. I love it! We're pretty much the aggressor, and he [the contender] takes a beating. If he gets through, he earned it!
(When asked if there was competition among the American Gladiators)
Steve: There's not much competition between us. Everyone has their key events which they're good at and kind of get to shine at. There's really no competition among each other. We all get along pretty well, like one big happy family.
Steve: I'm going to be Tower until the day I die.
