Stevie Wonder(Recalling on his first stage name): When I went to Motown, which was in '61, the people that are closest to the ranks of Motown felt that I had a talent and that I was promising writer. They said, look, we have to change your name, that's not going to work. They had messed around with calling me Little Stevie. They finally decided on Little Stevie Wonder.

Stevie: Just because a man lacks the use of his eyes doesn't mean he lacks vision.

Stevie: Mama was my greatest teacher, a teacher of compassion, love and fearlessness. If love is sweet as a flower, then my mother is that sweet flower of love.

Stevie: The two big advantages I had at birth were to have been born wise and to have been born in poverty.

Stevie: Eyes lie if you ever look into them for the character of the person.

Stevie: Sometimes, I feel I am really blessed to be blind because I probably would not last a minute if I were able to see things.

Stevie: Among all the wonderful things we have, we don't seem to have a time to love. And to me that's the fuel, that's the fuel we need to make the engine go.

Stevie: Ability may get you to the top, but it takes character to keep you there.

Stevie: We all have ability. The difference is how we use it.
