Rescue Me series cocreater Peter Tolan says Tatum is expected back on the set despite her June 2008 drug arrest quoted saying "We want to bring her back, and I haven't heard anything about why she wouldn't be available to us" also noting "It's a misdemeanor, so she's not going to do time, and nobody has said to us we can't insure her or anything like that. So I'm assuming she's available to us and it's 'business as usual." Tatum's publicist confirms Peter's remarks.

In June 2008, Tatum was arrested on suspicion of buying crack cocaine from a homeless person. After spending a night in jail, a New York City judge later released her and ordered her to return on July 28.

As of May 2008, Tatum and her boyfriend, architect Ron Castellano, took a "little break." but still picked her up from court. "He's a saint", Tatum says of Ron.

As of June 2008, Tatum lives in a building at East Broadway and Canal, The Forward, which used to house the Jewish newspaper of the same name.

On June 1, 2008 at roughly 7:30 p.m. Tatum was arrested for allegedly buying crack cocaine near her Manhattan apartment building. She was charged with a misdemeanor criminal possession of a controlled substance and if convicted could face up to a year in prison. Cops found two bags of cocaine in her front pants pockets. When approched by the police, Tatum reportedly said "You know who I am, right?" and asked "Can't we just forget about this?". She also claimed "I'm researching a part - I'm doing this for a part…as a junkie.". Tatum is due back into court July 28.

Tatum married tennis great John McEnroe on August 1, 1986. They divorced in 1992. They had three children together. Kevin was born on May 23, 1986, Sean was born on September 23, 1987 and Emily was born on May 10, 1991.

Tatum was cast as Blythe Hunter in Wicked Wicked Games after original choice Sean Young was fired after apparent clashes with its producers.

Almost since the day Tatum learned to write she kept a diary she named Fanny inspired by the unintentional holocost diary The Diary of Anne Frank. Tatum says she wrote to Fanny nearly every day sometimes adding little sketches and, after her kids were born, pasting in cute or funny pictures of them with captions.

Tatum admits to watching the third season of the ultra-popular ABC show Dancing With The Stars. Tatum guessed that Saved By The Bell star Mario Lopez would take top prize but was Runner-Up behind Football Legend Emmitt Smith.

The offer for Tatum to star in Wicked Wicked Games came when she was in New York City working on the FX show Rescue Me.

Tatum has had an E! True Hollywood story based on her and her family.

Tatum has been nicknamed Tantrum (after her famed childhood outburts), Tatesky, Mutat (Tatum spelled backwards) and Oscar (after her Oscar-Win at the age of ten).

On week two of Dancing With The Stars, Tatum scored a 17 out of 30 from the judges on her rumba. The viewers obviously agreed with the judges by not casting enough votes to keep her in the challenge until round three.

In week one of Dancing With The Stars, the judges scored Tatum a 23 out of 30 on her waltz that evening.

Tatum made her big acting debut at the young age of ten in the 1973 hit Paper Moon . She became the youngest person ever to win an Oscar when she won Best Supporting Actress for her portrayal of pint-sized con artist Addie Loggins.

She was born to actor parents Ryan O'Neal and Joanna Moore. Her brother is actor Griffin O'Neal and her sister-in-law is actress Rebecca DeMornay.

Tatum starred in International Velvet.

Tatum broke the previously held record of the highest-paid child star with her role in the 1976 version of Bad News Bears with her role as played Amanda Whurlitzer.

Tatum O'Neal was named after her paternal grandmother and jazz pianist Art Tatum.
