Early in 2012, Taylor assisted magician and illusion designer Franz Harary with the world premiere of a new illusion he'd developed, called "Slice-Her". In this illusion, Taylor was sawed in half while standing up, and her halves pulled apart, without any boxes being used to hide her body from view at any point in the performance.

After calling it quits with Conor Kennedy (October 2012) and then going on to date One Direction singer Harry Styles, Taylor was awarded with the Ripple of Hope Award at the Kennedy Center in New York on December 4, 2012 by none other than Conor's father Robert F. Kennedy Jr.
