  • From playing Danny in Soap to directing Less than perfect, the guy's a real pro.

Ted Wass was probably my first ever crush, thankfully I'm over it, he was one of my reasons for enjoying Soap in the first place. His character Danny Dallas was something of a himbo, handsome but dumb. I particularly enjoyed his nuptuals to the shrew-like Elaine. After she passed away, any other women he got involved with soon dumped him upon proposal of marriage. Dejected, he took up with the maligned Annie, wife of Chester, his recently discovered biological father.

Ted's foray to the big screen wasn't entirely a success. The curse of the pink panther got scathing reviews, while others Sheena, Oh! God you devil(co-starring Eugene Roche) never even got a cinema release in the UK. His appearances in TV movies, however was much better, especially as the lecherous Vinnie in The triangle factory fire scandal (which co-starred his wife, the late Janet Margolin).

I didn't see him in the series Men or Blossom, but Ihave seen his name crop up as a director of numerous comedies. Long may he continue.
