On July 29, 2008, The Killers played for the first time at the Highline Ballroom in New York City two new songs called "Neon Tiger" and "Spaceman." They also performed for the first time live "Sweet Talk", a song from the B-sides album Sawdust.
(Brandon talks about the feedback of his criticism on bands like Panic At The Disco, The Bravery and Fall Out Boy)Brandon: It's a shame that music can't be for itself and some of the reasons is other than the fact that we may look...differently...we look cute though...other than the fact that we are very cute, I've said soemthings that led people into only going...you know, not going by their ears but how much they hate me....which sucks because the songs are beautiful no matter how ugly my tongue can be.
(What would be his all-time festival line-up)Ronnie: I guess I'd like to see people like Tom Waits, The Stooges, Jane's Addiction and the Jim Ross Circus. Bob Lazar, the UFO guy, would be doing symposiums. There would be a drum super group, a jazz quartet with Joshua Redman and Brian Blade dropping acid, M Ward, Cat Power. I'd put APB for Soul Coughing – this great New York band who broke up in the late 90's. I'd ask Elton John to play and AC/DC would headline.
Brandon: Vegas doesn't need to be put on a map,but when you mention the Killers, that's what they instantly associate with us. At first people think you're extraterrestrial almost because it's such a foreign place. A lot of people love it and love the party aspect of it.But a lot of people hat it and think it's a fake city. I find myself defending it a lot.
