Thomas Newton

London, England

Birth Name

Thomas Jacob Newton

Born in London, England, Thomas Newton moved to Lawrence, Kansas when his father landed a position as professor of architecture at the University of Kansas. New in town, he discovered that a local theater troupe was a good place to meet people, and, along with friends, found a great affinity for acting. Save for a yearlong stay abroad working as a stone mason in Scotland, Newton steadfastly stuck by his craft, attending film and theater school at the University of Kansas, where he appeared in productions of "Offending the Audience", "The Boys Next Door" and "Betrayal". The actor headed west, where he married his love of the stage with his experience as a skilled laborer and took a job as a carpenter at the Old Globe Theatre in San Diego. Newton later moved to Los Angeles, where he acted in guest roles on series including "The Visitor" (Fox), "Francine Pascal's 'Sweet Valley High'" (syndicated, UPN) and "USA High" (USA Network). The lanky, blond, fresh-faced actor additionally appeared in an episode of the fashion conscious syndicated detective series "V.I.P." before landing a regular role on ABC's "Then Came You". On this midseason replacement series, Newton gave a charming performance as Aidan, a carefree twentysomething hotel room service waiter who falls into a passionate love affair with established career woman Billie (Susan Floyd), a driven, newly single thirtysomething who has taken up residence in the hotel.
