The son of Lebanese parents, American actor Tige Andrews, born Tiger Androwaous, played supporting roles on television and in films where he was usually cast as an amiable bad-guy. He was best known for his television work; he was a regular on the 1970s series Mod Squad.

He was nominated for a Golden Globe for Best Actor in a Supporting Role in 1970.

He recorded a record single "Keep America Beautiful" and "The Mod Father" in the early 70's

Tige was an artist who painted with oil paints, and published in the book "Actors as Artists." He had

    Tige Andrews was one of the all time great actors! He began his career on stage in New York on Broadway in Hidden Horizons and in the off Broadway production of The Threepenny Opera as the Streetsinger where he got rave reviews and was compared to Louis Armstrong! He worked with James Dean, John Wayne, Jimmy Stewart, John Ford, Bob Hope, Walter Matthau, Jack Lemmon, Paul Newman, Phil Silvers, Redd Buttons, Robert Taylor, James Cagney, Henry Fonda, Jack Clugman, Anthony Franciosa, James Arness, Barbara Eden, Sal Mineo, Adam West, Glenn Ford, Robert De Niro, Tony Curtis, Peter Finch, Jack Nicholson and so many others! He was the second ever Klingon on Star Trek! He was an awesome cop, detective, military fighter pilot and sailor and officer. He was a star in The Mod Squad, a show that changed television. He came up in a time where there was no cable, and it was harder to land acting jobs because there were limited opportunities. He was a part of television history and american culture. He was one of the premiere character actors of his time that was able to do drama and comedy! Not only was he on television, stage and the big screen, but he also was part of our culture on talk shows, game shows, radio programs (The Zero Hour with Rod Serling), and commercials! He had a great family life and was married for 46 years before his wife passed away. He died January 27th, 2007 at 86 years old. He has six children and eleven grandchildren.
