Tobin Bell is a veteran American film and television actor who is best known for providing the voice of Jigsaw in the popular Saw movie franchise. Born in 1942, Bell grew up in Queens, New York, and studied journalism in his young adult life with the original intention of becoming a writer or broadcast journalist. Those plans took a sharp turn when he was invited to join the Actors Studio in Manhattan and began playing background roles in various films in the 1970s and 80s. Bell eventually moved to Los Angeles and earned his first big break as a FBI agent in the critically acclaimed film, Mississippi Burning (1988). He followed that role with a number of guest spots on hit television shows such as NYPD Blue and Seinfeld, before the Saw franchise kicked off in 2004. Bell's popularity as the killer Jigsaw in the Saw films has made him the only actor that has been featured in all seven installments of the film franchise.
