Tom: (On the Dukes of Hazzard) I think John [Schneider] was more of teen idol than I was...but that was okay.
Tom: (On his experiences on "The Dukes"): I had a wonderful time. I developed relationships that I've held in good stead, I learned both the responsibility a leading man has in a show, and I learned how to direct.
Tom (On auditioning for 'Luke Duke'): I read the script in New York on Tuesday and was on a plane that night for Los Angeles. My screen test was on Friday and 10 days later I was in Georgia for filming.
Tom: As far as Dukes of Hazzard goes, it was what it was. It was a huge phenomenon. If you have a success of that stature you should embrace it. And you shouldn't deny it. Some people who have a popular television show will tell you that they wanted to 'be more artistic' and deny that that TV show was what they wanted to do, but to me it's all work.
Tom: (On whether or not there will be a third "Dukes" reunion movie) Every one gets a little harder to conceive. You're asking people to suspend belief a little bit. What are these guys still doing running around in their 40s and 50s? They got no jobs, they're still wearing the same clothes. What's up with that?
Tom: (On the Dukes character 'Boss Hogg') You could make a case that he's one of the least hypocritical people in the show, ... He basically comes out and admits he does what he does for money. Everyone else in the show talks about this and that, but he says he doesn't do what he does out of the goodness of his heart or anything. He does what he does to make a living, and he's good at it.
Tom: I don't want to be the father on a sitcom that's centered on the kids.
