Singer-actor Tony Martin began his career playing bit parts in films during the 1930's. After a controversial stint switching from the US Navy to the US Air Force which cost him his recording career, he appeared on the George Burns and Gracie Allen Radio Show. He appeared in the musicals of the 40's and 50's which finally got him another chance at a recording deal with Mercury. Tony appeared on television variety shows in the 1950's, 60's and 70's such as Arthur Godfrey and Friends, The Colgate Comedy Hour, The Dinah Shore Chevy Show, The Dean Martin Show, The Ed Sullivan Show and many other television programs. Tony was married to actress/dancer Cyd Charisse from 1948 until her death in 2008. His first marriage was to actress Alice Faye which lasted 4 years.
