  • Quotes

    • Tori: Anything a wife should do, I'm terrible at. Anything a mistress should do, I'll try.

    • Tori: The American women themselves, we've got to put a fire under them. They need to understand that I'm at their door and I want them to know it. I'm coming after their daughters and I'm convinced that not all of them are solely obsessed with the circumference of their navel. Simply, if we as women don't ask the questions of 'those' who are imposing their controlling ideology on all of us, then we are agreeing to a self imposed muzzling and that is unforgivable.

    • Tori: Women are divided into the mother, and the whore. It's very black and white. As a piano player, I understand black and white very well. And it's just not acceptable outside a keyboard.

    • Tori: Say we didn't have bodies and blood and guts, but just released these little light energies like colors, then we could just merge. That's what making love is all about.

    • Tori: At the end of the day, if I'm not inflammatory, I wouldn't be Tori.

    • Tori: If you ask me what songs I'm listening to now as I compile the ideas for the new album, I wouldn't tell you. What goes on as you make a CD is as sacred as what goes on in the bedroom.

    • Tori: I don't make singles, I make albums. I don't shoot just one crotch shot, that's not what I do. I'll give you the crotch shot, but at least put me in a pair of Louboutin high heels.

    • Tori: I have one man, three homes and five pianos - that's not too excessive, is it?

    • Tori: I want to say hi to everybody on the web... we're winding down the tour, and it's kinda really sad, and I'll be gone for two years, but just... know that you've really sometimes made me feel good when things have been really bad, and just know that I really respect you, not as... I hate the word fans, I... I'd like to call you Ears with Feet, and never use the word fan again because you're Ears with Feet.

    • Tori: (on being raped) I'll never talk about it at this level again but let me ask you. Why have I survived that kind of night, when other women didn't? How am I alive to tell you this tale when he was ready to slice me up? In the song I say it was 'Me and a Gun' but it wasn't a gun. It was a knife he had. And the idea was to take me to his friends and cut me up, and he kept telling me that, for hours. And if he hadn't needed more drugs I would have been just one more news report, where you see the parents grieving for their daughter... And I was singing hymns, as I say in the song, because he told me to. I sang to stay alive. Yet I survived that torture, which left me urinating all over myself and left me paralyzed for years. That's what that night was all about, mutilation, more than violation through sex.

    • Tori: If they keep crashing stuff into the moon, the moon's gonna get pissed off, and the tides'll change, and all the women'll start PMS-ing together. Then you guys are going to ******* regret it.

    • Tori: I moved to LA when I was 21. I felt like a kid in a candy shop. I'd be driving down the road and go, 'Mmmmm... There was a guy' and, 'Mmmmm...there was a guy!'

    • Tori: I'm obsessed with crocodiles and getting eaten by one... When I hear that someone's been eaten by a crocodile or shark, I just get all gooey. I start salivating.

    • Tori: Guys would sleep with a bicycle if it had the right color lip gloss on. They have no shame. They're like bull elks in a field.

  • So awesome!

Tori Amos reminds me so much of the American version of Kate Bush. She sounds very similar to her, and she sings songs with a similar sound.

I think Tori also looks up to Kate Bush. Well, I don't blame her because Kate is an amazing pop sensation! Tori does a great job with her music as well, and unfortunately, she does not get the credit she deserves. She is one of those hard-working celebrities that does not get recognised for all her hard work, and that is just a shame. I adora her music, and I honestly think she should be rewarded for her work.moreless
