Tracy Grandstaff made her mark, when she was hired by MTV. She applied for a job in copywriting, but much to her dismay, she was making more copies then writing copies. MTV was very well known for hiring their employees to do on-screen work.
She was initially cast in
The Real World pilot, but that was unused and was a very early plan of the show. But, MTV then cast her into a role that would make her extremely well-known, or at least make her voice well-known. She was given a chance to voice many characters in
Beavis and Butthead. This then got her the title

Since Daria's end, she has worked for Viacom, owner of MTV, Nickelodeon, Comedy Central and more, as a copywriter.
